The Behavioral Insights Team is a social purpose company, which started life inside 10 Downing Street as the world’s first government institution dedicated to the application of behavioural sciences. Their task is to make public services more accessible and cost effective, consider human behavior in government policy and empower people to make better choices for themselves.
Jointly owned by the UK Government, Nesta and the company’s employees, the challenge with this end-to-end design and build project was to align the 9000 square foot space with the company aspirations.
Our brief and contact for this project came directly from the client, which enabled our most unconventional design team to include fascinating finishes to the project such as a ‘damp feel’ grass wall in the spacious and sinuous work areas. Fantastic booth style seating areas for breakout meetings, hanging acoustic management systems and planked style ceilings were also installed. BiT are delighted with their new offices and feel that the free-flowing design encapsulates the very essence of the team’s existence.
