Kobalt is one of the world's largest, most innovative music companies, using technology to power creative freedom, and giving ownership and control back to the artists. More than 40% of the top 100 songs and albums in the U.S. and U.K are represented by Kobalt Music.

Upon the redevelopment of The River Building above Cannon Street Station by Blackstone, Kobalt made the decision to relocate to the iconic landmark for their UK headquarters and base of operations. The project was negotiated directly by Stanway Interiors, who successfully delivered the "One-Stop-Shop" Design & Build service, across the 42,400 ft2 expansive space.

The design brief was to create a modern yet humble space with personality that feels like home to enable the artists creativity to thrive. Along with our design partners in collaboration, Stanway created the perfect home for audiophiles, with recording studios and listening demonstration lounge rooms featuring state of the art and reference grade technology, whilst providing exemplary 65db high performance acoustic ratings. Further space consisted of executive meeting suites, open plan offices, flexible break-out areas with a bespoke canteen and drinks bar that doubles up as a celebrity client events space. The mechanical and electrical design was also completed by Stanway, with the aluminium clad exposed services being a particular feature of the Kobalt space, which are infused with crisp ceiling detail in other areas. Full bespoke joinery and creative graphic branding was also delivered throughout the space.

The works were completed within a prominent occupied building and busy footfall area with the main railway station below, which meant that communication and Health & Safety were of critical importance.

Stanway Interiors have continued to work with Kobalt with a dedicated aftercare service, holding their hands through any churn and change as their business and space requirements expand for further growth.
